Patrick F. Jinks, Sr., passed away July 26, 2017, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Patrick was the loving husband of Nora M. (Connole) Jinks with whom he shared 59-plus years of marriage.
Born in County Sligo, Ireland, the son of Mary and John Jinks, he came to the U.S. in 1948 and served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Army National Guard. He was a proud employee of North Shore and Boston Gas for over 32 years.
A devoted father and grandfather, he enjoyed time with his family. He cherished most the time with his four granddaughters, Kathryn, Kristin, Sarah, and Hannah Jinks. As they grew, he took great joy in their achievements.
He is survived by his wife, Nora; daughter, Mary of Salem; son, Dermot of New York; his son, Patrick Jr. and his wife, Terry of Salem; and his son, Michael and his wife, Maria of Virginia. He leaves his sister, Bridget of New Hampshire; niece, MaryEllen of Alaska; niece, Mary and her husband, Martin of Boston; and many relatives in Ireland.
Visiting hours were held at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. (corner of North Street), Salem, Sunday, July 30, 2017, from 1 to 4 p.m. Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. and be held at St. James Church, 160 Federal St., Salem, MA 01970 on Monday, July 31, 2017, followed by burial at Greenlawn Cemetery.
