Text size

Patricia Ann (O'Brien) Paige, age 70, of Swampscott, died peacefully on Sunday surrounded by her family at Beverly Hospital. Born in Lynn during the Stone Age, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Anna (Marino) O'Brien. She lived in Swampscott for the greater part of her life and also resided in Florida for over 20 years. She was a graduate of St. Mary's High School, Class of 1964, and attended the American Banking Institute while working as a Supervisor at the Lynn Institute for Savings.
Patricia, aka "Patient Access Patti," worked in the Admitting Office at Salem Hospital for 27 years until her retirement. She was a member of the AOH in Salem, assisted numerous Swampscott Youth Athletics, and was a devout parishioner at both St. John's and Holy Family Churches, while volunteering any way she could for almost any cause. Patti also enjoyed watching sports, gardening, sun tanning in her driveway, haggling, days at the beach, socializing and tearing up yard sales.
Patricia is survived by her son, James A. Paige II and his fiancé, Kate Delaney, both of Lynn; her close cousin, Cory Paulette and his wife, Mary Jane of Beverly; and her beloved dog, Angus. Often referred to as the "Patti Wagon" by her son's friends, whom she called "her boys," she will be extremely missed by family, friends, co-workers and Dollar Stores throughout the New England area.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 7:30 p.m. in the Solimine Funeral Homes, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn, with a funeral service at 7:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her services as well as a celebration of Patti's life at the Lynn Italian American Citizens Club on 93 Harbor Ave., following her final visitations. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Toys for Tots, c/o Massachusetts State Police Toys for Tots Coordinator, 124 Acton St., Maynard, MA 01754. Directions and guestbook at www.solimine.com.
