Nancy Ellen Weinberg

May 12, 1950 - February 13, 2019

Nancy Ellen Weinberg Newbury, MA - Nancy Weinberg, 68, of Newbury, died peacefully on Wednesday, February 13, surrounded by her family and loving friends. She leaves her son Ethan Pease and his fiancée Kate Kuznetsova of Sausalito, Calif.
Nancy was a photographer and lover of birds and nature and took many beautiful photographs of them, political events, and dogs. A wonderful cook and baker, her apple cake and thumbprint cookies are legendary, and will not be forgotten. She was a long-time member of Cantemus Chamber Chorus. A passionate political activist, she was the chair of the Newbury Democratic Town Committee and worked tirelessly on many campaigns, local and national. She was deeply involved in her community, and was one of the founding members of the Time Trade Network of Greater Newburyport. Because of her warmth and interest in people, she created many enduring friendships.
Nancy was a life-long lover of dogs and in recent years she cared for the pets of her many friends when they were away. She probably had as many dog friends as she had people friends.
The daughter of Bertha (Greenspan) and Joseph Weinberg, Nancy grew up in Swampscott. She attended The Stockbridge School in Western Massachusetts, and remained in touch with many of her schoolmates.

A service celebrating Nancy’s life will be scheduled for the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Massachusetts Audubon Society, The Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research or the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.

I’m so very saddened by our loss. I know there was a lot more Nancy would have created, shared and given had she had the opportunity. It is very good to know she passed peacefully surrounded by many she loved. My condolences to Ethan, Kate and all her loved ones.

I remember Nancy well, both from our Stockbridge days and the reunions thereafter. I loved her photographs of birds and nature as we were both birdies and animal lovers. I am so sorry to hear of her passing and hope that all our Stockbridge family and her family and friends can all find peace and support through our mutual love for Nancy. Amy T.

We met at so many political events and she was always always the brightest light in the room, full of engagement and positivity and earnestness. I always felt better in her presence. And I am so sad at her passing. Goddess-speed your journey Nancy.
