Michael Mansi, age 80, of Salem, died Wednesday in the Kaplan Family Hospice House after a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Rosa (Balducci) Mansi, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Italy, he was the son of the late Luigi and Angela (DiBari) Mansi. He came to the United States 57 years ago, and had lived in Salem for the greater part of his life. Michael had worked for Maynard Plastics as well the Salem Housing Authority until his retirement in 2009.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children; Luigi and his companion, Marina, Frank and his wife, Analia, Angela and Carolyn; seven grandchildren; Anthony, Amanda, Christopher, Bryanna, Caylynn, Francis IV, and Tiana; as well as four sisters, Nunzia, Antoinetta, Maria, and Dina; two deceased brothers, Domenico Mansi and Ruggiero Mansi and a deceased brother-in-law, Giuseppe. Furthermore he is survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Nick and Maria Balducci, Ricardina and the late Bryan Corriveau, Emilia and David Powell, Raffaele Balducci, and Sabino Balducci, and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Domenico and Ruggiero Mansi.
His funeral will be held on Monday at 9 a.m. from the Solimine Funeral Home, 67 Ocean St. (Route 1A), Lynn, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anne’s Church, Salem at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
