Michael A.'s Story
Michael A. DeSantis, age 89 years, of Beverly, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017, at Ledgewood Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Home in Beverly. He was the devoted husband of Margaret (Keezer) DeSantis. Born in Boston, he was the dear son of the late Atilio and Emma M. (Dinardo) DeSantis. He was a graduate of Beverly High School with the Class of 1945 and received his degree from Merrimack College.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as an Electrician’s Mate Third Class with the United State Navy during World War II.
Michael was employed for 40 years as an Electrical Engineer with Massachusetts Electric and National Grid Companies.
A lifetime resident of Beverly for 89 years, he was also a Past President of the ICC in Beverly and a member of the Vittori Rocci Post in Beverly.
In addition to his devoted wife, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage, he is survived by one son, David DeSantis and his wife, Tami of Danvers; four grandchildren, Chase and Mason Pelletier and Holly and Michael DeSantis; one brother, Joe DeSantis of Beverly; and one sister, Sylvia Halloran of Beverly. He was also the father of the late Lisa Pelletier and brother of the late Leo DeSantis.
Michael’s funeral service and interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan Street, Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923 or to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
