Mary (Filippetta)'s Story
BEVERLY - Mary A. (Filippetta) Diluiso, 100, died Monday, February 26, 2018 in the Ledgewood Rehab. And Skilled Nursing Center following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Alphonse Diluiso who died in 1987.
Born in Arlington on June 13, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Lucy (Belluto) Filippetta. She had attended Beverly public schools and had resided in Middlefield for several years before returning to Beverly 1989. She had also attended Burdett College for accounting.
Mary was one of the first security officers for Marshall's Department Stores and one of the first two nurse's aides at Salem Hospital in 1935. She had also once worked as an inspector at Bomac in Beverly from 1950 - 1960. She was an active member of the Memorial United Methodist Church in Beverly.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara (Mersereau) and Jack Ahordini of Beverly and West Palm Beach, FL; two sons, Arthur and his wife, Marion and Lawrence Mersereau and his companion Cindy, both of Honolulu, HI; son-in-law, Richard Dobson of Beverly; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her first husband, Arthur Mersereau, two daughters, June Main and Carol Dobson and two brothers, Lawrence and Richard Filippetta.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be privately held at the convenience of the family. There are no visiting hours.
