BEVERLY - Mary Cempellin, 92, of Beverly, passed away on Wednesday morning, February 7, 2018 at the Girdler House in Beverly.
Born in Beverly, she was the beloved daughter of the late Pietro "Peter" and Luigia "Louise" (Facea) Cempellin. She was a graduate of Beverly High School.
Mary had been employed as an Executive Secretary for the President of Sylvania in Danvers.
A lifelong resident of Beverly, she was a devout catholic who enjoyed attending mass at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church in Beverly for many years. Mary truly loved her family and took pride in taking care of all of them. She was genuinely a giving person who was tremendously charitable to others. Mary enjoyed dressing up and attending dances in her younger years.
She is survived by her devoted sister, Elizabeth Cempellin of Beverly; one brother, Joseph Cempellin and his wife Adele of Middleton; four nieces, Shirley Brown and her husband, Jim of Florida, Donna Cempellin of Salem, Lucia Wells of California, Gloria Patterson of Acton and the late Louise Keenan and her husband, Edward of Beverly; two nephews, John Cempellin of Florida and Peter Cempellin of California; her great-niece and caretaker, Karen Keenan Takis and her husband, Anthony of Ipswich and many other grandnieces and grandnephews. She was also the sister of the late Theresa Pizzo, Luigi Cempellin and Sante Cempellin.
Her Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot Street, Beverly on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours prior to the Mass at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's name may be made to St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Beverly or to the Girdler House, 78 Lothrop Street, Beverly, MA 01915.
