MARBLEHEAD, MA - Mary Agnes Carr, 93, of Marblehead, passed away at The Lafayette on January 25, 2018. She was the wife of the late Maurice E. Carr, Jr. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, on September 28, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Cornelius and Elizabeth (Donahue) Quill.
Mary was a graduate of St. Gregory's High School in Dorchester. She worked as a secretary at Boston City Hall for several years. Spending time with her many friends on Cape Cod was her favorite.
She is survived by her son, Maurice Carr, III, of Marblehead; three grandchildren, Erin Carr, Katherine Carr, and Maurice Carr, IV; and her great-granddaughter Gloria. Mary was the sister of the late Elizabeth Quill, Dorothy Quill, and Cornelius Quill.
A funeral service will be held in the Eustis and Cornell Funeral Home, 142 Elm Street, Marblehead, on Wednesday, January 31, at 11 a.m. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. prior to the service. Burial to follow in Our Lady Star of the Sea Cemetery, Marblehead. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to All Care Hospice, Development Office, 210 Market Street, Lynn, MA 01901.
