Mary A. (Roccio)'s Story

Mary A. “Mamie” (Roccio) Rhoades, age 90 years, of Beverly, passed away on Thursday morning, July 27, 2017 at the Masconomet Healthcare Center in Topsfield.
She was the beloved wife of the late Theodore Rhoades. Born in Beverly, dear daughter of the late John and Maria (Spiridigliozzi) Roccio. She was a graduate of Beverly High School.
Mrs. Rhoades had been employed as a cook for Beverly High School for 20 years and prior to that, she was employed at Keyser’s Restaurant for 20 years.
Mary was an honorary member of the Vittori-Rocci Post in Beverly and loved playing golf and Scrabble. She was also an avid New England Patriots and Red Sox fan.
Surviving her are one son, Thomas Rhoades and his wife Marie of Beverly; nine grandchildren, Kim, Ann Marie, Matt, Kathleen, Lisa, Allison, Theodore James “TJ”, Michelle and Thomas Jr., many great-grandchildren; one niece, Cathy Spencer and her husband, Bruce of Dover, N.H., several nephews and one sister-in-law and many brothers-in-law. She was also the mother of the late Robert and James Rhoades and sister of the late Tom Rocci, who was named after the Vittori-Rocci Post and the late Margaret Corriere, Eleanor Gagnon, Arthur Rocci, Louis Rocci, Alfred Rocci, Joseph Rocci and Albert Rocci.

The family of Mary A. Rhoades wants to thank the caring and dedicated staff at the Masconomet Healthcare Center in Topsfield for all the care they provided to her over the last six months.
Mary’s funeral service will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Tuesday from 11 to 12:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beverly. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Mary’s memory to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan Street, Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
