Martin Gomez, 31, died on Saturday, May 27, 2017, at the Lahey Medical Center in Burlington as a result of an automobile accident.
Born in New York, N.Y., he was the son of Ramon B. Gomez and Martina Rojas of Beverly. He was raised in Beverly and graduated from Beverly High School, Class of 2005, where he was a star athlete, excelling in baseball, basketball, football, and soccer.
A longtime resident of Beverly before moving to Peabody, Martin was a diehard Yankees fan, but loved his Patriots. An outstanding athlete, he enjoyed playing softball in his adult years.
Most important in Martin’s life was his son, his “little man”, Marques. He was a loving, caring, and devoted father as well as a loving son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents and his son, he is survived by his sister, Jamine Rocha of Florida; two brothers, Benjamin Gomez and his wife, Jessica of Florida and Ramon Gomez of Massachusetts; two nephews, Jovan I. Gomez and Javier Gomez-Reeves; and a niece, Olivia Gomez.
Visiting hours will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly, Wednesday, May 31, 2017, from 3 to 6 p.m. followed by a brief service at 6 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
