Marsha (Golter) Twomey, 80, died late Thursday evening, Dec. 7, 2017, in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. She was the loving wife of John J. Twomey.
Born in Lynn on Aug. 17, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Madeline (Arrington) Golter. She was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School.
Marsha, a resident of Danvers since 1960, was a communicant of Saint Richard Church. She served the community for nearly three decades as a page at the Peabody Institute Library. Many years prior, before raising a family, she had been employed at Schwartz & Benjamin in Lynn.
In addition to her husband, she leaves her children, Dennis Twomey and his wife, Kim of Maine, Tracy Pang and her husband, Simon of Danvers, Thomas Twomey of Peabody, and Jay Twomey and his wife, Jackie of Ohio; her grandchildren, Michelle Twomey and her fiancé, Chris, and Allison Twomey, all of Maine, Cassandra Blanchette and her husband, Joe of Rhode Island, Craig Blanchette of Danvers, and Leo Twomey of Ohio; her niece and honorary daughter, Janet Guptill of Bradford; an extended family, including many other nieces and nephews; dozens of dear friends; and her devoted cat, Stanley.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017, at 10 a.m. in Saint Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial will be private.
