PENSACOLA, FL- Marney was born in Gloucester, Mass. and was a long-time resident of Salem, Mass. before relocating to Pensacola, Fla. to be closer to her family. She met her husband John and they were married in Salem in 1946, resided in Laurel, MS, John's hometown, then returning to Salem in 1948. They were the parents of son, Richard and daughter, Christine who passed away prior to her third birthday. She loved to visit yard sales and flea markets, and looked forward to her Saturday morning breakfasts with her sisters, Dot and Jean.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Smith, MSgt, USA Ret.; her daughter, Christine Marie Smith; her father, William Baxter; and her mother, Louise Englehardt.
Survivors include son, Richard (Susan) Smith of Pensacola, FL; three granddaughters, Stacia (Robert) Cunningham of McDonough, Ga, Shannon Smith and partner, Ray Brown of Seminole, Ala. and Erin (Johnathan) Cramer of Pensacola, Fla.; two sisters, Dorothy Arrigo and Jean Burke, both of Salem; seven great grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
