Margaret "Peggy"'s Story
Marblehead - Margaret “Peggy” Riley, of Marblehead, Mass., died peacefully in her home surrounded by family members on May 13, 2018. Peggy was born in Beverly, Mass., in 1930, to the late Evelyn and John Davis. She attended St Mary’s High School in Beverly and Chandler School for Women in Boston before marrying Edward J. Riley Jr. in 1959.
Peggy dedicated her life to her family and friends. Peggy and Ed were longtime members of the Eastern Yacht Club and spent many summer weekends with family and friends boating in the local waters. During the winter months she enjoyed skiing in New England and was happy to have she spent her 70th birthday skiing in Vail, Colorado, with her family. She was also a member of the Marblehead Garden Club.
Peggy is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Edward J. Riley Jr.; her daughter, Sally Riley of Marblehead; her daughter, Robin and husband George Jebrine of New York City; son, Edward J. Riley III and his wife Kirsten; and two granddaughters, Morgan and Emma of Darien, Conn.
A funeral service will be held at the Eustis and Cornell Funeral Home, 142 Elm Street, Marblehead, on Saturday, May 19, at 11 a.m. Burial to follow in Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead.
