Beverly - Gone too soon, Madeline Lily Lund passed tragically and suddenly on October 6th. Growing up, Maddie loved to laugh, and her beaming face drew others towards her. She spent endless hours in happy play with her sister. She also played endlessly with her dog, Lily, often falling asleep embraced in Lily's paws. Her love of animals would continue her whole life. Maddie also loved reading and writing and shared her joy of a well told tale with her family and friends. As she grew older, Maddie reached out to others and easily made friends. She was inclusive and trusting of everyone she met. She was physically active, running track in high school, learning karate as an adult, and enjoying many different outdoor sports with her family.
An educator, Madeline worked for four years as a tutor at a local high school, and then after earning a graduate degree in special education, she became a high school special education teacher. She embraced her role as an advocate for the most academically and emotionally vulnerable students. She developed close relationships with them and found ways to help them succeed.
She is survived by her sister, Amanda Lund, her mother, Carol Lund, father, David Lund and his wife Julie Craven, her beloved grandmother, Marjorie Lund, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended stepfamily. Her passing leaves a hole in all of our lives.
A Memorial Service will be held for Madeline at the Shore Country Day School, 545 Cabot Street, Beverly, Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to BARCC 99 Bishop Richard Allen Dr., Cambridge, MA 02139, or MADD 511 E. John Carpenter freeway Irving, TX 75062. Information, directions, condolences at www.campbellfuneral.com.

I am so heartbroken to hear of Maddie's passing. She was a lovely young woman and a godsend to me when I moved here as she became my dog sitter for my elderly dog, Katie. She was so very caring, personable and dependable. Katie and I will miss her very much and I wish to express my sincere condolences to her family.

Carol, David and Amanda - please accept my condolences on the loss of your beautiful daughter and sister. It was so fun to see her a few years ago in Santa Monica as a gorgeous young woman after knowing her only as a gorgeous baby. My heart is broken for you. xxooKyle
