Louis F.'s Story
Louis F. Picariello, age 92 years, of Beverly, beloved husband of the late Irene (Silva) Picariello, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, August 22, 2017 surrounded by his loved ones.
Born in Beverly, he was the son of the late Francis and Santa (Taglieri) Picariello. An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Army. Upon his discharge, Louis went to school for machinery. He was employed by Reid Brothers and Post Machinery as a machinist where he retired from in 1991.
Louis enjoyed working around his yard, especially planting and caring for his tomato plants. He loved spending time with his family and took pride in caring for his home. Louis was an avid harmonica player and loved to play for his grandchildren.
Surviving him are three daughters, Nancy Giering-Hayes and her fiance, Darryl Jones of Beverly, Deborah Ryan and her fiance' Mark Melcher of Lynn and Cynthia Arabian of Gloucester; one son, David Souza and his wife, Andrea of Gloucester; one sister, Margaret Conley of Peabody; 10 grandchildren, Shannon Marcantonio, Shelle Muise, David Souza Jr, Justin Souza, Brooke Nadeau and her husband, Donald, Breeann White, Deena Johnson and her husband, Jay, Daniel Giering and his wife, Susie, Angela Giering and Geena Ryan and 14 great-grandchildren and Derek Johnson who was like a grandson to him. He was also the father of the late Rene Slingsby, brother of the late Frank Picariello, Sabato Picariello, Amelia Archer and Mary Pietrini and grandfather of the late John Arabian.
