Lawrence S.'s Story
Lawrence S. “Larry” Edmands, 67, of Peabody, died unexpectedly on Wednesday at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
Born in Melrose, he was the son of the late Francis A Edmands Sr. and Claire Ann (Ledoux) Edmands. He was a lifelong resident of Peabody and a graduate of Peabody High School, Class of 1968.
Larry was a general contractor whose expertise was in cabinet making and carpentry. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and camping at Moosehead Lake in Lily Bay, Maine. He also enjoyed NASCAR Racing, and at family and friend’s gatherings and cook-outs, he was the grill master for all.
Larry is survived by his son, Alexander DeVoe of Coos Bay, Ore.; his three siblings, Francis A. Edmands, Jr. of Peabody, John and his wife, Deborah Edmands of Amesbury, and by Janet Bergstrom of Peabody; and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Stephen Edmands.
Following cremation, visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
