Kathryn J.'s Story
Kathryn J. (Long) Blaquiere, 81, passed away surrounded by her family on November 7, 2017, in Sea View Retreat, Rowley.
Born in Randolph on May 7, 1936, she was the daughter of the late William Long and Bertha (Andrews) (Long) Fowlie. She was raised and educated in Randolph and graduated from Randolph High School. Kay was employed as an office manager for several physicians including, Dr. Zinn in Ipswich and Dr. Hazelton of Newburyport. She also worked as the head teller at the former Ipswich Savings Bank. Upon retirement, she spent her winters in Ft. Myers, where she was proudly the captain of the shuffleboard league, winning many tournaments and trophies. She loved spending time with her extended family.
She is survived by Charles Moon of Ipswich, with whom she shared 44 wonderful years; her children, Pamela MacDermott of Derry, N.H., Darren Wilson of Massachusetts, Lawrence Moon and his wife, Lisa of Ipswich, Louanne Maker of Ipswich, and Karen Egounis of Rowley; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her children, Frederick Wilson III, Theresa Marecka; and her sons-in-law, Willard Maker, Todd Egounis, and Walter Marecka.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, in Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 54 Linebrook Road, Ipswich, MA. Burial will follow in Cowles Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich, MA. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. in Morris Funeral Home, 45 North Main St., Ipswich, MA.
