Kathleen F. Long
Born in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (DiFeo) Dinardo. She was raised and educated in Beverly and was a graduate of Beverly High School with the class of 1961. Kathleen furthered her education by graduating from the Chandler Finishing School for Girls in Boston.
Mrs. Long dedicated her life to her family as a passionate homemaker. She raised her six children on her own, with assistance only from her father, mother and two sisters. She also worked at Axcelis Technology Company in Beverly, for over 20 years.
Kathleen was a brilliant cook and took great pride in the fact that all the food she prepared was homemade. Her family will truly miss her Italian cooking, especially her meatballs. Kathleen was a true lover of animals and was nice to everyone she met. She thoroughly enjoyed traveling, especially to Maine with her daughter Ellen and their friends. Kathleen never missed an event throughout the years for her children and grandchildren. She relished in watching all of them over the years and being a part of their special day.
The family of Kathleen would like to acknowledge and thank all the staff at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, for their tireless care and dedication to their mother while she was a resident there.
She is survived by two daughters, Ellen Long of Salem and Christine Sloan and her husband Alan of Lynnfield; two devoted caretakers and sons, Kevin and Timothy Long both of Beverly; two sons, Brian Long and his wife, Maria of Beverly and Sean Long and his companion, Laura Basso of Medford; five grandchildren, Nathan and Aaleyah Long and Maxwell, Madison and Meagan Sloan; one sister, Frances Pascucci of Wellesley; one sister-in-law, Mary Lou Barry and her husband, Jeff of Maine; one brother-in-law, Edward O’Neil of Danvers; her beloved two cats, Scooter and Buddy and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Patricia O’Neil, sister-in-law of the late Philip Pascucci and aunt of the late Julie O’Neil Mazella.
