Josephine D.'s Story
Josephine D. (Paolini) Mistretta, age 85 years, a lifelong resident of Beverly, passed away Sunday afternoon, November 19, 2017 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers. She was beloved wife of John F. Mistretta.
Born in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Emidio and Rosina (Qualantona) Paolini. She was a graduate of Beverly High School with the class of 1950.
Josephine was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She treasured her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially for birthdays, holidays and other celebrations. She was extremely talented with her hands, which she put to use for her family in sewing, making homemade sauce and jam, and baking.
In addition to her husband, with whom she shared sixty-three years of marriage, she is survived by five sons, Anthony J. Mistretta and his wife Deborah of Holliston, Paul W. Mistretta of Beverly, John D. Mistretta and his wife Heather of Worcester, Thomas M. Mistretta and his wife Debra of Danvers and James D. Mistretta and his wife Sheri of Merrimac; 14 grandchildren, Lauren, Mark, Jennifer, Christopher, Joseph, Kara, Lindsey, Luke, Krystina, Jacob, Matthew, Emily, Helena and Miriam; two great grandchildren, Jameson and Eliza. She was also the sister of the late Philomena Finocchiaro, Theresa Denis and Harold Paolini.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church, 111 New Balch Street, Beverly, Saturday, November 24, 2017 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, Friday, November 25, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beverly.
