Beverly - Joseph Swindell, 81, husband of Janet (Sullivan) Swindell, passed peacefully at home Wednesday morning, October 2, 2019. He was the son of Harry P. Swindell and Irene E. Pierce, and loving brother to Jim, Jake, Jerry, Paul Swindell, and Terri Swindell Schaeffer.
Joe was a loving husband, married to the love of his life, Janet for over 50 years. He was known as a "Good Man" by everyone he met, and truly embodied the phrase. A graduate of Topsfield high school, he was co-captain of the "Six Man" football team. After graduation he served in the Army. He was employed by Sylvania in Danvers for over 30 years and retired 1993. In his retirement he was an avid golfer, walker, and traveled extensively with Janet.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Patricia and her husband Paul Tallo, Mary and her husband John Page. He was affectionately known as "Bucko" to his grandchildren, Joe DiIanni and wife Sara, Gloria DiIanni, Patrick Page and fiancée Molly, Sarah DiIanni, Savannah Page and Matthew Page.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019, at 11 a.m., in North Beverly Cemetery, 685 Cabot Street, Beverly, MA. The family would like to thank Caitlin and Moses of Care Dimensions/Hospice for their compassionate care and support. Janet I'm so sorry for your loss. Joe was a great guy, I remember many good times when we were all in our 20's, 30's. We had a lot of laughs and fun! I wish I had kept closer contact thru the years, you and Joe were such good friends!
