Joseph James's Story
Joseph James (1953-2017), Tribendis, of Swampscott (formerly Pittsburgh, Pa.), passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 10, 2017.
Joe, son of Joseph and Marjorie Tribendis of Luzerne Co, Pa., is survived by his wife, Susan Nason Tribendis; three daughters Sarah Jane, Madeline, and Allison; son Matthew; son Alexander and wife, Kaitlyn; two granddaughters Brooklynn and Maelynn; and his sister, Majorie Whitton.
Raised in Kingston, Pa., Joe earned his BS in Materials Engineering from Drexel University and his MS and PhD from MIT’s School of Engineering and Sloan School of Management. Joe’s work experience included several management positions at Alcoa Inc. prior to joining the investment banking firm, Ventura Group, LLC. He was a board member and past President of the Swampscott Education Foundation.
Joe loved spending time with his family and friends and supporting his children in their sports endeavors. He also enjoyed drinking his morning coffee with his Starbucks crew, watching Pittsburgh Steeler games with fellow fans, researching genealogy, working on home projects, and playing rugby and rowing during his college years.
Family and friends will honor and remember Joe with a Funeral Mass celebrated on Saturday, September 16, 2017, 10 a.m. in St John the Evangelist Church, 174 Humphrey Street, Swampscott, MA 01907.
