I cannot express how saddened I was by the news of Joe's passing. My condolences to his family and to the very special lady whom he shared is life with for many years Auntie Joanne . The memories I Have of them at all family gatherings thought out many many years will always bring a smile to my face . At every event I would always be drawn to the table they sat at and spend my time in delightful funny sometimes serious conversations with them . I loved them both so much . Joe you will missed by many , but the joy you left behind will always be remembered

Wonderful memories of Joe in Porter, Maine:
We spent many great times with Joe and Mom in Porter. We walked through the woods, swam in the river, kayaked along many water ways, sat on the deck talking, and shared delicious meals together. In the winter we went sledding and snowshoeing. Our 3 little chihuahuas will surely miss when Joe would sneak tidbits from dinner, and feed them under the table. Joe was a big part of our lives. We will love and miss him always.

I remember Mr. Cappola as a great neighbor he would always say hi if we were outside and ask how our day has been. He was a great person who we tragically lost on August 8. The Longview Drive neighborhood will miss him forever.

Mr Coppola ( shack) to my fellow trade school classmates. You were one of my favorite teachers. I learned more from you than you probably ever could know. Now 38 years later, I’m still using what you taught me in my new profession. Even though my class, trade school in general was probably the most trying aspect of teaching, you nailed it ( no pun intended) I remember being one of your more challenging students, but that did not stop you from going fishing with me, playing paddle ball and never coming down on me because I was late when I went goose hunting! The most influential thing you ever did for me was when you taught night school and you invited my classmates to come and work on school projects. When we showed up, you would take a break or get a coffee. You would tell us to answer any of the adults questions and don’t let them cut their fingers off. Thank you for instilling that trust in us. It meant a lot. RIP my friend, maybe we will meet again.Tell mr Tate I said hi and we need to have a talk about my related grade 😀Read more

Our hearts are saddened with out Mr Cappola here on earth with us. He brought life to anyone he talked to. He was like a second father to Mark, he spoke life into so many kids and adults lives. He literally changed the path of so many peoples. He supported, he mentored... he will be missed and never forgotten. Our hearts have a huge whole in them without the wonderful man here with us! May his soul Rest In Peace, and May be in heaven with his mama having an Italian feast we always talked about!

It is with such sadness that I have learned of "Mr. Joe"passing.

Mr. Joe and his siblings were good friends of my Dad, Larry Crofts. I have many memories of conversations about life in Beverly with him but my most vivid is of his selfless generosity. Mr. Joe came to the rescue in my home when the carpenters I hired could not finish my kitchen. I was eternally grateful to him for getting me in order right before the holidays.

I'm sure my Dad is waiting for him in the hereafter to continue to trade stories of life in Beverly.

My condolences to all of those who loved Mr. Joe, he was a kind and genuine man. May your wonderful memories of him always bring a smile to your face and warmth your heart.

Joe (Mr. Coppola) as I knew him was my teacher. He always had a way of capturing your attention with his lessons and did it with a kind voice.
He always made me feel like I was his only student. I have fond memories of him teaching us how to solder copper pipe. He was a man with a lot of knowledge and the talent to teach it to others. I feel he played a big part in the success I've had in my life. I wish I had the chance to see you again, now that I'm a man so I could say thanks Joe.
You will always be my teacher, I will always see you and hear your
voice in my memories. Your efforts as a teacher will never be forgotten.

Dearest Family Members & Joanne:
I am truly saddened of this news today. Joe was a very important person to me in my childhood, teenage years, & early twenties. I remember so well that "I was constantly looking out my living room window" to see if Joe's car was home ". While I was in the military he always wrote faithfully and we always exchanged audio tapes. Even though we had a 6 year age difference then, it had no bearing of the things we did. Sports, fishing, horseshoes, carpentry, woodworking, stock car races ,teaching me to drive and taking me in his car to get my license. Most importantly I was always considered part of his family and always was included in everyth that happened.
As years progressed we drifted apart, because of life changes , but stayed in touch occasionally
I am grateful for Joey being "the person I could look up to" and I will miss you. You taught me many wonderful things along with life lessons which I am truly thankful and grateful for.
You are my Idol. I am so honored to know you.

I know this was completely unexpected, and how close you are.
I can see him on your front lawn; see the smile; hear the voice; and feel the handshake.
