John R. Perry

John R. Perry Peabody - John R. Perry, 92, passed away on September 9, 2018, in the Kaplan Family Hospice House. He was the husband of Maude (Van Bellingham) Perry of Peabody with whom he shared nearly 72 years of marriage, residing in Peabody for the last 66 years.
Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on October 31, 1925, he was the son of the late Joe and Lily Bud (Randall) Perry. He was raised in Washington, D.C., and then accepted a V-12 scholarship to MIT. He met Maude while in Cambridge, and they married in 1946. He served as an engineer in the Navy during WWII, then set out on a long engineering career that included work on the space program, and later designing plastics extrusion machinery at Gloucester Engineering.
John was a longtime member of the Holy Trinity Methodist Church Choir, and was a bridge and tennis enthusiast. He was a supporter of the Northeast ARC.
In addition to his wife, Maude, he is survived by his three daughters, Andrea Perry of Peabody, Judy Perry of Marblehead, and Carolyn Perry and her companions Andy Latto and Elaine Hansen, of Foxborough; his sister, Beverly Currier of N.J.; his brother-in-law, Lawrence Van Bellingham of N.Y.; and his nieces and nephews, Marilyn (Currier) and George Rabbai, of N.J., Heidi (Willis) and Randy Currier of N.J., Charles and Jennifer (Garrett) Currier of Calif., Wendy Van Bellingham and Rafe Epstein of N.Y., Heidi Van Bellingham of N.Y., Katrina Van Bellingham and Tony Blecher of N.Y., and Vanessa Van Bellingham of N.Y., and many extended family and friends.

His funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2018, in Holy Trinity Methodist Church, 16 Sylvan St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St., Peabody. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., on Friday, September 14, 2018, at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers.
