John M. Phelps, 62, husband of Maureen (Manson) Phelps, passed away after a five month battle with leukemia on Friday, July 28, 2017, at Lahey Medical Center in Burlington.
He was the son of the late Charles and Katherine (Murray) Phelps.
He was raised and educated in Salem, where he graduated from Salem High School in 1972.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister, Sue Khoury and her life partner, Jim Tylman of Harvest, Ala.; his sisters-in-law and their spouses, Nancy and David Grant, Diane and Bob Pitman of Beverly, Mass.; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
