John Francis's Story
John Francis Worthley, age 74, of Swampscott, recently passed away at home after a long battle with heart disease. He leaves behind his loving companion Susan Fulton.
He is survived by his son, Christopher John Worthley of Marblehead; son, Gregory Alan Worthley and his wife, Heidi Beth Shore of Marblehead and grandchildren, Samuel Franklin Worthley and Miles Monroe Worthley.
Known by his friends as 'Jack', he grew up and lived in Marblehead most of his life. He graduated Marblehead High School in 1960. After high school, he joined the Army and after being honorably discharged from service he settled in Marblehead to raise his family. His love of automobiles was his life's work and he retired General Manager of Kelly Auto Group. He had several interests including antiques, gardening, bird watching and spending time with family and friends, but was never happier then when he had a fishing rod in hand. His advice on any subject big or small will truly be missed. Tight lines Jack!
At Jack's request a private burial will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., Salem. For additional information or online guest book please call 978-744-0497 or visit www.MurphyFuneralHome.com.
