Johanna (Blank) Apostoloff, 93, of Marblehead, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2017 with her family by her side. Johanna was born November 10, 1923 in Munich, Germany. Johanna was the wife of the late Nikola Apostoloff. She arrived in the United States from Germany in 1951. Johanna and Nikola traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. She was a loving homemaker who enjoyed knitting, music, children, animals, bowling, singing and playing the piano. She was a diehard Bruins and Patriots fan. She had a great sense of humor and a smile that could light up a room. Johanna is survived by her four children, Sonja Knight, Nikola Apostoloff, Michael Apostoloff, Richard Apostoloff and his wife, Kim Apostoloff, her grandchildren, Eric Knight, David and his wife, Laura Apostoloff, Noel and her husband, Eric St. Hilare, Johanna Apostoloff, Nicole Apostoloff, Jessica Apostoloff, her fiancé Nick Tarantino and Jerimiah Comeford, great-grandchildren, Tyler, Haylee and Rylee Apostoloff, Ava Connolly, Liliana, Celina and Odin Tarantino, Laura McGonigal, Kaylee Knight, JJ and Malek Comeford, Wesley Apostoloff, Summer St. Hilare, and Johanna also leaves many friends.
There will be a memorial service at St. Michaels Church, 26 Pleasant St., Marblehead, Tuesday, June 13 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Friends of Abandoned Animals of Marblehead, 44 Village St., Marblehead, or St. Michael’s Church, 26 Pleasant St., Marblehead, MA 01945.
