SALEM, MA - Jeffry Bates, of Salem, age 57, died peacefully, Sunday, February 4, 2018, at Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers, after a brave, five-year battle with cancer. The son of the late Paul M. Bates, of Vinalhaven, Maine, and Carmelina Bramante, of Danvers, he is a 1978 graduate of Masconomet Regional High School.
Self-employed as a creative web designer, he worked for many years as part of the Staple's Copy Center team in Beverly.
He enjoyed being by ocean whenever possible, collecting old TV shows, and anything to do with pigs, and playing with his pug, Mojo.
Surviving him are two brothers, George R. Bates, of Maine, and Paul M. Bates Jr., and his wife, Dale, of Georgetown; his loving partner, Jaqueline Meadows, (formerly of Nashua); and her children, Christina, Nicholas, and his wife, Allie, and Matthew; several loving aunts; an uncle; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot Street, Beverly, Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, Wednesday, from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
