Jeannette G. (Godin)'s Story
Jeannette G. (Godin) Hughes, 88, wife of the late William T. Hughes, died on Thursday, August 17, 2017, at the Baldwinville Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Albert J. and Irene R. (Tremblay) Godin. She was raised in Salem and graduated from Salem Vocational High School.
Mrs. Hughes was employed with the Salem Public School Dept. as a secretary for the WitchCraft Heights Elementary School. She was there when the school was opened and retired following many years of employment.
Surviving her are her children, Russell T. Hughes and his wife, Barbara of Winchendon, John Hughes and his wife, Marianne of The Villages, Fla., Janice Welch and her husband, Donald of Salem; her sisters, Elizabeth Chase of Michigan, Ruth Forget of Florida and Cynthia Bouchard and her daughter, Cindy of Middleton. She was the sister of the late Paul and Orrin Godin and Lucielle Brown.
