BEVERLY - Jeanne E. (Proulx) McBrien, 85, beloved wife of Joseph H. McBrien, died Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Care One at Essex Park in Beverly, surrounded by her family.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Eva (Roy) Proulx. She was raised in Beverly and graduated from Beverly High School.
As a young woman, Mrs. McBrien had been employed by the United Shoe Machine Corporation and Marshall's Department Store. Jeanne dedicated most of her life to raising her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage, she is survived by three daughters, Colleen Ricker and her husband, Fred of Peabody, Maureen Rogers and her husband, Michael of North Andover, and Kathy Pitman of Beverly; six grandchildren, Chris Ricker, Caitlin Mazzaglia, Tara Sherman, Will Rogers, Hannah Pitman and Molly Pitman; a great-grandson, Yosef "Fitzy" Sherman; and a sister, Elaine Lavoie and her husband, Raymond of Ft. Myers, Fla. She was also the mother-in-law of the late John Pitman.
Arrangements: Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church, 111 New Balch Street, Beverly, Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at 12 noon. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A visitation will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, prior to the Mass on Tuesday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be private.
