Janet S.'s Story
Janet S. (Gauss) Rouse, 76, of Lynn, formerly of Salem, wife of the late Robert H. Rouse, died Thursday, January 5, 2017, at the Life Care Center of the North Shore, Lynn following a long illness.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late John W. Gauss, Jr. and Audrey (Langille) Gauss. Janet was a graduate of Salem High School in the Class of 1958.
She was employed in the office of Gauthier Motors in Salem for many years and later worked at Walgreens in Peabody, until her retirement due to illness.
Janet was a Rainbow Girl and later became a member and Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 98 in Salem.
She is survived by one son, Robert S. Rouse and his wife, Karen of Raymond, N.H.; one daughter, Robin Ann Dionne and her husband, Ronald Estey of Lynn; one grandson, Nathan E. Rouse and his fiancée, Lynn Pachucki of Lynn; one brother, John A. Gauss and his wife, Charlotte of Arlington, Va.; and a sister-in-law, Fran Hoffman and her husband, Ken of Omaha, Nebr.
A visitation will be held Friday, January 20, 2017, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, followed by a funeral service at 3 p.m. in the funeral home with pastor Rev. Arthur Savage of the Wesley United Methodist Church, presiding. Cemetery services are private.
