ROCKPORT - Mr. James R. Rothwell, 71, of Rockport and Merrimac, died peacefully, Wednesday January 31, 2018, at Den Mar Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rockport, surrounded and comforted by his loving family.
Born in Nahant, he was the son of the late Louis and Grace (Nagle) Rothwell. He was raised in Nahant and Danvers.
Jimmy loved motorcycles, cowboy westerns, and the Marx Brothers. His friends new him as "the life of any party," his smile and sense of humor made everyone he knew feel loved. He played in a poker club with "the cool group" and always had snacks to pass around.
Jim was a loving son, father, and grandfather, his generous nature and kindness will truly be missed by all who had the pleasure to know him. He was one-in-a-million, and loved by so many.
Surviving Jim are his daughter, Chrissy Roberts, and her husband, Keith, of Rockport; his two sons, Ken Rothwell, and his companion, Heather Lupis, of Salem, and James Rothwell, of Rockport; his grandchildren, Jami Lynne Rothwell, Nick Roberts, Emily Roberts, Cody Rothwell, Jared Rothwell, Anthony Rothwell Makenzie Rothwell, and Chyna Rothwell; four great-grandchildren; his sister, Lois Rothwell Pelkey, of Florida; his daughter-in-law, Paula Rothwell, his former wife, Beverly (Pydynkowski) Truiera; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Lenny Rothwell.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral Mass will be held in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Margin St., Peabody, on Wednesday, February 7, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.
