James D. “Jimmy”'s Story
Mr. James D. “Jimmy” Foley, Sr., 55, of Marlboro, Mass., formerly of Salem, died June 28, 2017, at his home following a lengthy illness.
Born in Salem, he was the son of Helen J. (Cook) Foley of Salem and the late Robert J. Foley.
He was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School.
Mr. Foley had been employed in the restaurant industry for many years.
A loving and caring man, Jimmy volunteered his time to help those in need. He was always willing to lend a hand and pay it forward to help a friend. He lived in Marlboro for over 20 years and previously had resided in Salem. He was an avid chess and cribbage player. He loved to play cards. He made many lifelong friends during his time in Marlboro and will be greatly missed.
Jimmy is survived by his son, James D. Walker-Foley, Jr. of Salem; his mother, Helen (Cook) Foley of Salem; his sisters, Kathy Foley of Peabody, Cynthia Dube of Maine, Nancy Foley of Salem; his brothers, Bobby Foley of Lynn, Patrick Foley of Salem, Stephen Foley of Lynn and Shawn Foley of New Hampshire; the mother of his son, Calla Walker of Salem; and many nieces, nephews, and one great-niece.
His funeral services are private. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the O’Donnell Funeral Home, 46 Washington Sq. (at Salem Common), Salem.
