On Sunday, December 10, 2017 Jacqueline "Jackie" Siebert O'Neill passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side. She was predeceased by her husband and love of her life, Martin "Marty" Joseph O'Neill Jr., her parents, John Siebert and Doris Putnam and her brother John Siebert Jr.
Jackie was born in Newark, N.J. on October 2, 1937 and spent her childhood in upstate New York graduating from Alexandria Bay High School in May 1955. She then attended nursing school at the House of the Good Samaritan graduating in September 1958 and began a career as a registered nurse that spanned close to 50 years.
Jackie and Marty were married on May 5, 1962 and moved to West Peabody in 1965. She spent the last 35 years of her career as an overnight nursing supervisor at Lynn/Union Hospital while maintaining the home with four children born over a span of four years.
Jackie was dedicated to her family, friends, community and enjoyed life to the fullest. She was a longtime communicant of St. Adelaide's Church serving as both a lector and usher. Jackie attended many events at the North Shore Music Theater, enjoyed frequent trips to Boston with her friends, and was a regular at the Peabody Senior Center - she won this year's scariest costume contest at the Halloween Party. Jackie enjoyed a good yard sale always being one of the first to arrive and she loved a bargain. Until her recent illness she rarely missed her daily 5 mile walk. She also traveled the country visiting her children and grandchildren. If family, friend or community needed help Jackie would be there as soon as possible, doing whatever was needed, for as long as it took. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and her children are grateful to have had the privilege of calling her "Mom."
She is survived by her children, Kathleen of Baltimore, MD, David (Karen) of McDonough, Ga., Michael (Ana) of Holliston, Mark (Tracy) of Peabody; her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Taylor, Caroline, Meghan, Joseph, Sarah, Lauren, Julia and Kaitlyn and her sisters, Eunice Gaines (William) of Potsdam, N.Y., Barbara Baldwin (George) of Lakeland, FL and Doris Kaufman (Ken) of Skaneateles and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Adelaide's Church, 708 Lowell St, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St, Peabody. In lieu of flowers a contribution to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. For directions and on-line obituary, visit www.ccbfuneral.com.
