DANVERS - Isabel (Russell) Cobb, 90, passed away peacefully in the early hours of March 8, 2018. She was the loving wife of Wilbur S. Cobb of Danvers. They fell in love - at first sight - on a blind date. They enjoyed 68 years of marriage and dedicated their lives to providing the best childhood possible for their two children, Judith and Eric.
A proud leap year baby, Isie was born in Danvers on February 29, 1928 to Clarence and Isabella Russell. She was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Holten High School. She furthered her education at Boston University and was employed as head teller at Bay Bank in Beverly for many years.
A long-term parishioner of Holy Trinity United Methodist Church, she enjoyed gardening, sewing, and needlepoint. She loved traveling with her husband in retirement and was known to have the very best apple pie in the whole wide world. Her true passion, however, was her unconditional devotion to her family.
She leaves a daughter, Judy Lawless and her husband Kevin of Haverhill; a son, Eric Cobb of Danvers, her grandchildren, Jamie (Cobb) Erler and her husband, Jesse, Rachael Travers-Huffman and her husband, Levi, Katie Travers, Colby Lawless and Morgan Lawless and six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Jean Munroe.
Visiting hours will be on Monday, March 19th from 5 to 7 p.m. at the C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square.
