Hilma's Story

DANVERS - Hilma E. (Hames) Ingalls, 85, of Danvers, beloved wife of the late Edward E. Ingalls III, died Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ellen (Lund) Hames. Raised in Boston she was educated in the Boston and Revere school systems.
A longtime resident of the Town of Danvers, Hilma was an active member of the Holy Trinity United Methodist Church for many years.
Growing up in a large family, Hilma was one of nine children, family was always important to her and she became a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed raising her family and spending time with her grandchildren. They were truly the light of her life and she took every opportunity to enjoy their many activities. She will be deeply missed by her loving family.
Surviving Hilma are her two daughters, Cynthia Lonergan of Danvers and Deborah Verrette of Peabody, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (Rte 62) Danvers on Monday, January 8th at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Wadsworth Cemetery, Danvers. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Hilma's memory to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave., Salem, MA 01970.
