Georgette "Jane"'s Story
Georgette "Jane" (Marmen) Michaud, 96, of Salem, passed away Monday, Sept. 11, 2017, at Grosvenor Park in Salem. She was the wife of the late Ernest J. Michaud.
Born in St. Honore, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of the late Demetrius J. and Marie E. (Couturier) Marmen, Jane was raised in Salem and was educated at Ste. Chretienne's in Salem. Jane worked as a hairdresser and also at Atwood and Morrill during WWII. For many years later, she was a self-employed seamstress.
Jane is survived by her daughters, Janel M. McCue of Salem and Paula L. Stull and her husband, Charles D. of Turlock, Calif.; her son, Mark J. Michaud of Danvers; her granddaughter, Erin Denman and her husband, Blair of Danvers; great-granddaughters, Braiden and Riley Devitt; a sister, Pauline Nappi of Florida; and step-grandchildren H. Charles Stull and Denise Locke and their families; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Jean Mark Marmen and Francis Marmen and her sister, Theresa M. Claise.
Relatives and friends are invited her Memorial Mass in Ste. Anne Church, Jefferson Ave., Salem, Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
