PEABODY - Genevieve M. (Manning) Walsh, 93, of Peabody, died Tuesday morning at the Blueberry Hill Nursing Home, in Beverly, following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late John H. Walsh.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late William and Delia Manning. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody, and a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1943.
Genevieve was employed as a bookkeeper for many companies on the North Shore before retiring from the Deer Skin Trading Post in Danvers. In her retirement she enjoyed traveling with her husband from Cape Cod to Ireland.
She is survived by her loving two sons, Jeffrey, and his wife, Lynda Walsh, of Beverly, and Michael, and his wife, Paula Walsh, of Woburn; her daughter-in-law, Susan Walsh, of Danvers; and by her beloved six grandchildren, Kayley, and her wife, Leah, Shawna, Brianna, Michael, Matthew, and his wife, Laura, and Patrick Walsh; and by her two great-grandchildren, Camden, and Harper Walsh; and by several nieces and nephews. Besides her loving husband, she was predeceased by her two sons, David, and James Walsh.
Her funeral will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody, followed by her funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. John's Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
