Eugene J.'s Story
Eugene J. Mudarri, Sr., 88, a longtime resident of Middleton and Boston's South End, died on May 15, 2017, at the Watertown Health Center and Compassionate Care Hospice. Born in Boston, Gene served in the United States Army and was the only child of Joseph Mudarri (Damascus, Syria) and Sophie (Raffol) of Boston, Mass. He was the former husband of Dorothy Butler Kennedy and loving father of Ralph of Canton, Mass., Lynne of Rockport, Mass., Joe of Bothell, Wash., and Chip (deceased) of Kirkland, Wash. He was the grandfather of Joe, Sophie, Max, Kelly, Samantha, Dan, Katie, Tyler, and Jill, who flew in from all over the U.S. to say final goodbyes. He loved the arts and entertainment world, from Shakespeare to the movies of the golden era and regularly appeared at his grandkids birthdays in full costume as a famous pirate, wizard, or another character. Gene was also an avid historian, especially of the American Civil War. He often regaled his family and friends with tales of that storied time in the American past. In addition, he was a boxing aficionado and lifetime Red Sox baseball fan. We will always carry your memory in our hearts.
