Ethel "Peggy" (Kessaris)'s Story
Mrs. Ethel 'Peggy" (Kessaris) Iwanicki, 77, of Londonderry, N.H., formerly of Middleton, beloved wife of the late Robert Thaddeus Iwanicki, died unexpectedly April 18, 2017, at All American Assisted Living Center in Londonderry, N.H., surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late John and Sophie (Drillis) Kessaris. She was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School, Class of 1957.
Mrs. Iwanicki was employed for over 30 years at Henry's Market in Beverly as a cook until the time of her retirement.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Peggy was devoted to her family. She loved to spend her time cooking and took great pleasure in preparing gourmet meals for her family and friends. She was an avid walker and enjoyed spending her free time at Salem Willows, the beach and going to the movies. Family was paramount in her life.
Peggy and Robert and were made for each other. They were a true love story and relished every moment spent together. Robert was the apple of her eye, and she devoted her life to caring for her family and especially her beloved, Bobby, whom she nursed through his illness. She will be remembered for her amazing cooking, her devotion to her husband and family and her love of life. She will be deeply missed.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Carol Healey and her husband, Timothy of Derry, N.H.; her sons, Michael Iwanicki and his wife, Sarah of Danvers and John Iwanicki and his wife, Linda of Londonderry, N.H.; her grandchildren, Drew and Daniel Healey, Julie Rose Iwanicki, Carly Malo and Michelle Iwanicki; her great-grandchildren, Eulila and Novella Toppi; her brother, John Kessaris and his wife, Dorothy of Peabody; her brother-in-law, Richard Lanphear; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and extended family. She was predeceased by her siblings, Athena Lanphear, Diana (Beba) Gallo and Mary Kessaris.
Her funeral will be held from the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St. (Route 62), Danvers, Monday, April 24 at 8:15 a.m., followed by her funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, Conant St., Danvers at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
