Elsie I.'s Story
Elsie Irene (Blocksidge) Sindoni of Lynn passed away in the Rosewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Peabody on Friday, October 20, 2017, at the age of 102. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Walter H. and Alice (plant) Blocksidge. Elsie was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English High School with the Class of 1933. Prior to her marriage to Anthony Sindoni, Elsie worked as a private secretary for Dunn and Bradstreet in Boston. Later on in life, she worked for Cement Line Pipe Co. of Lynn and then for the Sears Credit office in Lynn, both in part time roles. Elsie leaves her son, John Sindoni of Lynn; her nephews, Victor Sullivan and his wife, Maureen of Lynn, Robert Blocksidge and his wife, Mary of Lynn, Jackie Blocksidge and his wife, Kathy of Windham, N.H., and Andrew Blocksidge of Lynn; her nieces, Louise Blocksidge of Lynn and Amy Blocksidge of Lynn; as well as her sisters–in-law, Lydia Blocksidge of Lynn and Virginia Sindoni of Tahoe City, Calif.; and her brother-in-law, Palmer Pearson of Lynn. Many other nieces and nephews survive her. In addition to her parents and her husband, Anthony, Elsie was preceded in death by her siblings, Horace and John Enos Blocksidge.
A Funeral Service for Elsie will be held in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn, on Thursday, October 26, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
