Eleanor M. MacGlashing, 80, of Hudson, Fla., and Hampton, N.H., died peacefully on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at Exeter Hospital.
She was born on June 25, 1937 in New York, N.Y., a daughter of the late John and Mary Mistyshin.
She was a New York resident, until she married her late husband of 51 years, Richard L. MacGlashing, and moved to the Boston area, eventually settling in Danvers to raise her family.
She graduated from Essex Agricultural School in Hawthorne, Mass., as a surgical technician. She went on the have a successful career at Massachusetts General Hospital and later for a private vascular surgeon.
Eleanor always put family before anything and her greatest joy was spending time with them. She also enjoyed animals, especially horses.
Surviving family members include her children, Charles MacGlashing Sr. of Pittsfield, N.H., Richard MacGlashing and his wife, Denise of Exeter, N.H., Debbie Picillo and her husband, Ken of Holladay, Utah, Christine Coppola of San Francisco, Calif., and Corinne Connor and her husband, Peter of Hampton; grandchildren, Jessie, Chucky, Jake, Lance, Ricky, Nick, Meaghan, Michael, Sydney, Peter and Christine; 11 great-grandchildren and one on the way; several nieces, nephews and her beloved little dog, Zoe.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2017, in St. Mary's Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers, MA.
