Eleanor Hennessey's Story
Eleanor Hennessey King, 62, of Salem, passed away in the company of her loving family on October 26, 2017, in NSMC Salem.
Eleanor was born in Peabody, Mass., the daughter of the late Joseph F. and Clare T. (Monaghan) Hennessey. Living in Salem most of her life, she was a graduate of Salem High School and Salem State University. After college, Eleanor began a career in teaching which spanned three decades beginning in St. Mary's School in Beverly for six years followed by 26 years as a Kindergarten teacher at the Bates School in Salem until her retirement just this year.
Eleanor is survived by her two children, Katelyn Clare King of Salem and Joseph James King of Salem; her brother, James Hennessey and his wife, Geraldine of Salem; her sisters, Kathleen Hennessey of Marblehead and Eileen Konopnicki of Lynn; and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Visiting hours in the Berube & Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St., Salem, MA, on Friday, November 3, 2017, from 5 to 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are also welcome to meet at St. James Church, Federal Street, Salem, Saturday at 10 a.m. for her funeral Mass. Burial will be private at a later date.
