BEVERLY- Edward Samuel Dean, age 97, of Beverly, died Wednesday February 21, 2018 at Beverly Hospital. Husband of the late Ada A. (Angers) Dean.
Born in Haverhill and raised in Beverly. He was the son of late Thomas and Katherine (Kelly) Dean.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.
Edward worked for New England Telephone Company for over 30 years. He enjoyed golfing and working on cars. An avid car enthusiast along with his wife, he was a member of the Profile Auto League of NH, the North Shore Old Car Club and a member of M.O.A.L.
He is survived by a daughter, Alma (Mackenzie) Bechard and her husband, Robert of Melvin Village, N H.; two sons, Edward S. Dean of Beverly and James P. Dean and his wife, Dolores of Lynn, a sister, Helen Robinson of New Hampshire; eight grandchildren, Kelley Bergeron and husband Gary, Jeff Bechard, Karynn Bechard, Kristin Pelletier, David Bechard and wife Paula, Katie Adjutant and husband Eric, Devon Dean and Samuel Dean, 10 great-grandchildren, Stephanie, JB, Rhiannon, Robert, Kyleigh, Sammantha, Spencer, Preston, Barry, Emily, five great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson, Barry Bechard, brothers, Thomas, Jack, Harold Dean.
His funeral service will be held in the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly Monday, February 26, 2018 at 12 p.m. Relatives and friends invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly. Interment in the Hamilton Cemetery.
