Donald H. Walsh Danvers, MA - Donald H. Walsh, 73, of Danvers, Mass., passed on Jan. 17, 2019, following a courageous battle against lung disease.
Don graduated from Masconomet Regional High School in 1963, and later from the Newbury School of Business. He went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam as a MP. After coming home, he went on to work at the Christmas City in Topsfield that was owned by a family member. He later worked at the North Shore Shopping Center as a Security Guard, which led him to a long career as a police officer with the Topsfield Police Dept. from 1976–1995. After retirement, he worked at the Ferncroft Hotel in Security.
Known for his quick wit and a huge sense of humor, he always left you laughing. Everyone loved a Donnie story and he will be dearly missed.
Donnie leaves his Topsfield Police brothers, Edward Holden, and Glenn Walker, who helped him with his illness the last 12 weeks; and his cousins, Matt Bouras, Jean Bouras, Sally Zavarella, Elliott, John, Paul, and Kathleen Hopkins.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Mackey Funeral Home, 128 S. Main St., Route 114, Middleton, MA. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations in his name to the American Lung Association at Visit

Ah Donnie - i am sorry that i have just heard of your passing. its been many years but i have fond memories of you when we were kids. Show Andy around - you guys are back together now, rest in peace.

I worked at the Topsfield Police Department with Donnie for many years....When I started, I dispatched on the midnight shift, while he fought crime...He was kindest and funniest man I had ever met.....Love you Donnie, You will NEVER be forgotten!!! Rest in Peace ❤️

My heart is breaking over the loss of this incredible friend, partner and "brother". Donnie was the guy who made the sun shine on a cloudy day. Everyone who knew him is better for the time spent in his presence. Rest easy now my friend, we got it now.
