BEVERLY - Donald G. Adams, 88, beloved husband of Louise (Hodgdon) Adams, died on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers from complications following surgery.
Born and raised in Beverly, he was the son of the late Hervey and Gladys (Kershaw) Adams. A lifelong resident of the City of Beverly, he resided most of his life in the house he built himself at only 21 years old.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during the Korean Conflict as a Corporal in the United States Army.
Mr. Adams had been employed for 28 years by the New England Telephone Company until the time of his retirement.
A talented woodworker and craftsman, Don filled his and Louise's home with beautiful handmade furniture and clocks, including a grandfather clock he built for her as an anniversary gift. He enjoyed spending time in and photographing nature and was a member of the Greater Lynn Camera Club.
In addition to his wife, Don is survived by his dog, "Buddy Adams", one nephew, Richard Adams, and his nieces, Susan Batstone and Joanne Adams, and many friends. He was also the brother of the late Robert Adams.
