Don was born in Ipswich, Mass., and graduated from Story High School in Manchester-by-the-Sea. He was Captain of the football team and Vice President of his senior class.
He was very proud to serve as a Sargent in the Army, stationed in Alaska, South Korea and Washington State. He was a hardworking small business owner throughout his adult life. Even in retirement, he stayed involved at Artemas Industries with his good friend and business partner, David Dugal. Don's favorite hobbies were fishing, boxing fan, and farming. He was happiest driving his tractor in the field with his faithful dog, Chloe, growing heirloom tomatoes and trying for a giant pumpkin.
He will always be loved and remembered by his fellowship and in particular the men of the Woburn group. He considered his friends in the fellowship his band of brothers.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Michelle; daughters, Lisa McCormick and Lynne Rufo; son, Ward Cammett; sister, Nancy Moore Moore; and his much loved sister and brother-in-law, Darlene and Fred Gayton. He was predeceased by his parents, Donald and Francis (Ward) Cammett and brothers, David and Walter Cammett.
There will be a Celebration of Life on November 12 at the American Legion, 94 Eastern Avenue, Rochester, NH, from 1 to 4 p.m.
