SALEM - Mrs. Diane Louise (Lausier) Poskus, 66, of Salem, died December 10, 2017, at Massachusetts general hospital in Boston following a prolonged illness.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of Louise G. (Boucher) Lausier and the late Alfred P. Lausier. She was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of the former St. Joseph School and the former St. Joseph High School. She continued her education at Northeastern University Nursing School.
Mrs. Poskus began her professional career with the Stop and Shop Corporation in the business department where she worked for over 29 years in the finance department. She matriculated to the former St. joseph Church and School of Salem where she was employed for over 30 years as the Business and Office manager until the time of the schools closing and her retirement in 2009. She loved her job at St. Joseph and took great pride in her work.
A lifelong resident of the City of Salem, Diane had a deep love of classical music. She was an avid piano player and loved to share her talents with others. She sang and accompanied the St. Joseph Choir for many years. She was a diehard New England Patriots fan who never missed a game.
Above all else family always came first for Diane. She was a doting Memere to her beloved grandchildren. She relished time spent with her family and was always willing to help those in need. She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed.
Diane is survived by her children, Dr. Alyssa Horton and her husband, Dale of New London, Ct., and Matthew Poskus and his wife, Susan of North Reading; her grandchildren, Hazen and Abigail Horton; her mother, Louise G. (Boucher) Lausier of Salem; her sister, Marie Lussier and her husband, Robert of East Longmeadow; her brothers, Paul Lausier and his wife, Susan of Danvers, Philip Lausier and his wife, Cathy of Seattle, and Roger Lausier and his wife, Dale of Salem; 12 nieces and nephews, and many extended family and friends including her sister-in-law, Andrea Schwartz of Salem.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held form the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (Route 62) Danvers, Saturday, Dec. 16, at 9 a.m. followed by her funeral Mass in St. James Church, Federal Street, Salem at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
