David J.'s Story
David J. Linehan, 31, son of Marianne (Lynch) Linehan and the late John S. Linehan, died unexpectedly June 1, 2017, at Mass. General Hospital in Boston.
Most recently a resident of Atkinson, N.H., he previously lived in Amesbury, Mass., Sandown, N.H., and Merrimac, Mass.
He was a 2004 graduate of Pentucket Regional High School in West Newbury where he was a member of the varsity hockey team. While still in high school, he became a dual enrollment student at Northern Essex Community College.
After high school, he was graduated with honors from the Energy Utility Technology program at North Shore Community College and began working as an apprentice lineman for National Grid. He rose through the ranks to become a journeyman lineman. After working for National Grid for six years, he decided to change paths and study for a career as a licensed electrician. At the time of his death, he was enrolled in the Peterson School and was working as an apprentice electrician for Tradesman International in Salem, N.H., where his most recent assignment was with Brunelle Brothers Electrical at a project in Stoneham.
Between careers, Dave completed a cross-country trip – a longtime dream. He traveled the highways and byways in a vintage RV that he jokingly nicknamed “Krusty,” and visited many national landmarks.
Several years ago, he followed in his father’s footsteps to become a Master Mason and a member of Essex Lodge AF&AM of Salem, Mass.
Dave was a big-hearted guy who would often help others in need when the opportunity presented itself. After death, he continued to help others as an organ donor giving multiple recipients a chance at a better life. Dave was a special man who will be missed tremendously by the family and friends he left behind.
