North Andover, MA - Claire Davis Ronayne, 84, passed away in Charlottesville, Va. on December 4, 2018.
She was born on September 22, 1934 in Melrose, Mass. where she spent her childhood with parents Herbert and Grace Davis and her annoying little brother Richard. She was a graduate of Melrose High School and the University of Massachusetts.
She married the taciturn yet dashing Vincent Ronayne, and they raised their children in Topsfield. Claire enjoyed life as a teacher, wife, mom, sister, Welcome Wagon lady, and real estate agent. Despite a degree in home economics, she did not cook very well. Throughout her life, her love of family, Ireland, Newfound Lake, seafood, Sinatra, and Guinness were undiminished. She is survived by her brother, daughter Janet, grandchildren Steve, Riley, Jack, Patrick, and Luke, and her son Peter – who finally gets the damn silver.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
A memorial Mass will be held on December 17th at 10 a.m. at St. Michael's Parish, 196 Main Street, North Andover.
