Christopher N.'s Story
Christopher N. Cornet, 64, of Peabody died Thursday evening, Nov. 2, 2017, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. He was the loving husband and best friend for 42 years to Janice (Mallard) Cornet. Chris was born in Boston, Mass., on November 23, 1952, the son of the late Paul and Elaine A. (Cazanas) Cornet and was raised in Lowell before moving to Reading. He had resided in Peabody for the past 41 years. He was a salesman most of his life, first as a car salesman operating his own car lot, Route 28 Motors in North Reading, and later worked in real estate with the Coldwell-Banker firm at the Beverly branch for six years, prior to his retirement. Chris enjoyed playing his guitar and singing when he was younger and with his brother formed a band and played at many occasions and events. He also enjoyed fishing when the opportunity presented itself. He and his wife enjoyed traveling and took many cruises as well as excursions to the islands by plane. Las Vegas was one of his favorite destinations. For the past few years he enjoyed watching the Patriots with Janice and his “son,” Kevin McLean. Kevin would join them every Sunday during the football season to rout for their favorite team.
He is survived by his wife, Janice and many nieces and nephews, including his niece, Sharon McKay Cornet of Boston.
